Durga Shakti – the Rakshak


A unique mobile app from Haryana Police for Women Safety.


Durga Shakti app provides a platform for woman to seek immediate help from police in times of distress. The app is available on both Google and Apple play store and can be downloaded for free. Any woman can register on this app and can either call or press ALERT button on the home page of the app in case of an emergency. Upon this, user’s location coordinates (latitude and longitude) will immediately be sent on Durga Shakti app helpline number and a nearby stationed police team can be dispatched immediately for her help. In addition to this, an SMS is also sent to the emergency contact number listed by the user. Since its launch on 12.07.2018 by Hon’ble CM, Haryana, the app has quickly gained popularity and has got 150k+ downloads so far. Durga Shakti app has won multiple awards and industry recognitions over the years. In 2019, it has won Governance Now Digital Transformation Award (GovernanceNow), SKOCH Bronze Award (SKOCH Summit) and IT Excellence Award (Indian Express).
