The Haryana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has demonstrated remarkable efficiency by achieving significant
success in the disposal of pending cases during the first quarter of 2026. Strengthening the scientific investigation
system, the FSL has not only reduced the backlog of cases but has also made the investigation process faster,
more transparent, and more effective. According to the available data, the number of pending cases, which stood
at 16,040 on January 1, 2026, has decreased to 14,863 by March 31, 2026. This reflects an approximate reduction
of 8 percent, which is the result of the FSL’s well-planned strategy, improved coordination, and continuous efforts.
Such a large-scale reduction in backlog is a clear indication of improvement in the state’s forensic system and highlights
the institution’s priority towards timely disposal of cases.

On this occasion, Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Nayab
Singh Saini, forensic science has become the cornerstone of modern and effective policing. Haryana Police is giving top priority
to evidence-based investigation and is extensively using new technologies and modern equipment. This enhancement in FSL capacity
will make the investigation process faster, more transparent, and more reliable, ensuring that strong and accurate evidence is
presented before the courts in every case. He said that timely forensic reports, especially in heinous cases, provide a decisive

The Haryana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has achieved unprecedented accomplishments in the first quarter of 2026 (January–March),
further strengthening the state’s crime investigation system. Through the integration of advanced technologies, expansion of human resources,
and speedy disposal of cases, the FSL has proved that scientific investigation is the backbone of modern policing. During this period, special
emphasis was placed on strengthening human resources. Approval for 63 new posts is expected to further enhance the institution’s efficiency.
These include scientific officers and technical staff who will play a crucial role in ensuring more accurate and reliable investigation of complex
cases. The recruitment process is also being expedited on priority so that these posts can be filled at the earliest and the laboratory’s
full capacity can be utilized.
Advanced Technology and Mobile Forensic Vans Bring Revolutionary Speed to Investigations, Strengthening Evidence-Based Action
In the field of technological upgradation, the FSL has made significant investments by procuring advanced equipment worth approximately ₹3.28 crore.
These instruments are enabling unprecedented speed and accuracy in areas such as DNA analysis, narcotics testing, cyber forensics, and digital evidence
analysis. Additionally, equipment worth ₹68.7 lakh has been inducted specifically for the investigation of cyber and digital crimes, making it more
effective to tackle emerging crime challenges. Furthermore, the state government has approved 11 advanced mobile forensic vans, which will facilitate
on-site evidence collection and preliminary analysis. This initiative will not only improve the quality of investigations but also ensure preservation
and timely analysis of evidence, thereby helping in building strong cases against criminals. These efforts by Haryana FSL are proving to be a milestone
in strengthening law and order in the state. Scientific, evidence-based investigation is not only enabling firm action against criminals but also helping

2. DGP issues stern warning against display of gun culture and objectionable content on social media :
Says strict action will be taken against those promoting such content
Director General of Police Ajay Singhal has issued a clear warning to those promoting gun culture and objectionable or misleading content on social media in the state, stating that such content will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the offenders. Between January 1, 2026 and April 10, 2026, a total of 6,083 objectionable, misleading, and law-and-order disturbing URLs/content/apps/websites have been taken down. According to detailed data, 4,278 were linked to Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), 1,172 from YouTube, 372 from X (formerly Twitter), 167 from other platforms, 53 from Telegram, 36 from Reddit, and 5 from Snapchat
Strict action against gun culture and objectionable content
The DGP stated that strict action will be taken against content glorifying weapons, promoting violence, displaying obscene content involving women, portraying children and girls in an indecent and objectionable manner, and fake content that presents a negative image of Haryana and its people. He clarified that such activities not only hurt social values but also affect peace and harmony in the state.
Chief Minister’s commitment towards a positive social environment
He further said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is also extremely serious about this issue, and the state government is committed to maintaining a positive social environment. Under the guidance of the Chief Minister, strict measures are being taken to curb such anti-social and misleading activities.

The ‘Abhedya’ app has emerged as a strong technological tool to effectively curb threatening calls originating from international numbers. The app instantly blocks and deletes suspicious international voice calls, messages, photos, videos, and voice notes before they reach the user, forcing criminals to rely on local numbers, thereby making it easier for the police to track them. As a result, not only has the identification and arrest of criminals accelerated, but a stronger sense of security has also been instilled among citizens.
DGP Ajay Singhal: ‘Abhedya’ App Sets New Benchmark Nationwide, Other States Adopting the Model
Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated that the remarkable success of the ‘Abhedya’ app has set a new direction and benchmark across the country. He mentioned that several states are now working towards adopting similar systems inspired by this technological initiative developed by Haryana Police. The DGP said that the app has been receiving continuous appreciation and positive feedback from across the nation, reflecting its effectiveness and utility. He further stated that the use of international numbers in extortion-related cases has declined significantly, strengthening the sense of security among the public. Along with this, the app has effectively controlled fraudsters making fake calls using gang names through international numbers, as such calls are now being instantly blocked. Enthusiasm for ‘Abhedya’ App in Jind and Kaithal, Increased Public Confidence
The most positive impact of the ‘Abhedya’ app has been observed in the districts of Jind and Kaithal. So far, 26 and 22 people respectively have downloaded the app. Users reported that the fear of being threatened through WhatsApp calls and messages has significantly reduced and appreciated the initiative taken by the police. They stated that they can now sleep peacefully at night without the fear of being intimidated through such calls or messages.
Growing Trust in Jhajjar and Panipat, No More Fear of Threatening Calls
Similar responses have been received from Jhajjar and Panipat districts. So far, 19 people in Jhajjar and 14 in Panipat have downloaded the app. Users said that the fear of threatening calls has ended and they are now able to focus fully on their work and business. They also appreciated the initiative taken by Haryana Police.
Enhanced Sense of Security in Bhiwani with ‘Abhedya’ App
In Bhiwani, 9 people have downloaded the app so far. Diler, a resident of Kharak Kalan, stated that after installing the app, he has not received any threatening international calls and feels much safer. Similarly, Virender from Loharu said that unwanted threatening calls and messages have stopped, bringing peace to his life.
Relief in Hansi and Rohtak, International Threat Calls Blocked
In Hansi district, 5 people have downloaded the ‘Abhedya’ app so far. Users reported that they are no longer receiving threatening international WhatsApp calls and feel more secure and stress-free. In Rohtak, 7 people have downloaded the app. According to users, the app has not only reduced unwanted threatening calls but has also increased awareness regarding cyber safety.
How the Abhedya App Works
Additional Director General of Police Sibash Kabiraj explained that ‘Abhedya’ is a mobile-based citizen security system developed by Haryana Police, aimed at preventing suspicious digital threats before they reach the user. The app identifies unknown international numbers, virtual numbers, and unsaved suspicious contacts. It blocks suspicious calls and removes chats, voice notes, videos, and images before they are delivered to the user. It helps prevent issues such as threatening calls, extortion, stalking, and cyber fraud at the user level. The primary objective is to protect citizens from fear, pressure, and digital harassment.
4. CID Haryana Dog Squad’s Historic Performance, ‘Mandy’ Wins Silver Medal at National Platform :
It is a matter of immense pride and joy for Haryana Police that the 69th All India Police Duty Meet (2025–26) was held from March 28 to April 2, 2026, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where the Dog Squad of the Technical Wing of CID (Haryana), Madhuban, delivered an outstanding performance. In this prestigious competition, EHC Veerbhan, currently posted in the Bomb Disposal Squad at Hisar Airport, secured a Silver Medal in the Human Body Search event along with his explosive detection dog ‘Mandy’. In this event, the sniffer dog identifies and detects explosive substances concealed on a suspect by sensing their odor (vapors), which is a highly challenging and technically demanding task.

Various sniffing-related competitions are organized during the All India Police Duty Meet, including Building Search, Vehicle Search, Luggage Search, Human Body Search, and Ground Search events. All these competitions require a high level of training, discipline, and strong coordination between the dog and the handler.
Another participant also delivers commendable performance
Along with this achievement, another commendable performance was delivered by Constable Sandeep (2/436), currently posted in the BD Team Rewari. He secured the fourth position in the Basic Obedience event along with his dog ‘Rocky’. In this competition, the primary criterion is the dog’s precise compliance with all commands given by its handler.
Big success with limited resources
ADGP CID Saurabh Singh stated that as per the prescribed norms, only two dogs from CID Haryana were sent to participate in this Duty Meet, and both delivered excellent performances, bringing laurels to the department.

Notably, this is the first time that sniffer dogs of CID Haryana have won a medal in the Explosive Sniffing event at the All India Police Duty Meet. 5. Major Success of ‘Abhedya’ App: Sonipat Police Bust Inter-State Extortion Gang, 5 Accused Arrested :
The effectiveness of Haryana Police’s ‘Abhedya’ mobile application has once again been proven. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Sonipat Police successfully busted an inter-state extortion gang and arrested five accused. Director General of Police Ajay Singhal congratulated the police team on this achievement and directed them to continue such impactful operations in the future.
Tracking Through Local Numbers Led to Swift Action During the investigation, it was revealed that due to the ‘Abhedya’ app, the use of international numbers had been significantly restricted, forcing criminals to rely on local mobile numbers. As soon as these local numbers became active, the police’s technical team was alerted. Acting swiftly, the team conducted an operation in the Bahalgarh area and apprehended the accused. All the arrested individuals are residents of the Narela area in Delhi.
Network Spread Across Multiple States
Nutritionist Also Targeted Preliminary investigation indicates that the gang operated across Delhi, Haryana, and several other states, targeting individuals for extortion. The accused have confessed to demanding ransom from a nutritionist in Sonipat. It has also come to light during interrogation that the gang members were planning to execute firing incidents in different districts to establish dominance and extort money.
Weapons and Mobile Phones Recovered
Probe Continues The police have recovered illegal weapons, three mobile phones, and two live cartridges from the possession of the accused. The seized items were being used for criminal activities. Intensive interrogation of the accused is currently underway, and efforts are being made to identify other members of the gang and unravel their wider network.

Other States Show Interest With the effective implementation of the ‘Abhedya’ app, there has been a significant reduction in suspicious calls from foreign numbers, making it easier for law enforcement agencies to track criminals. The arrest of five shooters in this operation is considered a major achievement. Impressed by the app’s success, police forces from Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Maharashtra have also shown keen interest in adopting it.
6. Tightened Crackdown on “Tateeree” Song. Haryana Police Gets 857 Links Removed :
Major Action Against Objectionable Content: Strong Message from DGP Ajay Singhal; Drive Intensified Under Leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini
Haryana Police has intensified its crackdown against the objectionable song “Tateeree,” taking firm action across digital platforms. According to the latest figures released by Panchkula Police, a total of 857 links related to the song have been removed so far, including 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram reels. Police officials stated that this कार्रवाई is being carried out in coordination with various social media platforms through due legal process. Notices have been issued to the concerned platforms directing the removal of all versions of the song—including re-uploads, short videos, and other formats. This step has been taken particularly to curb the spread of objectionable content containing derogatory references towards women and minors.
